Blessing Time!

I am attempting to be better at journaling. This is a very belated post but the boys were blessed over memorial day and I just found this video of me getting them ready. I thought wikipedia had a pretty good explanation on what a blessing is here. Ryan and the boys did very good and they all looked pretty sharp.

We were very lucky to have my parents, my sister Heather and her family, and Ryan's parents spend the weekend with us.

Hair

You have probably all seen these pictures but for my own personal documentation here they are:

Also the weirdest thing but my hair totally changed color while I was pregnant. I guess it was growing in darker and now that it's been almost five months I have these light roots. Did not know that could happen but I am not surprised.

Four Months!

The boys are 4 months old and doing great my doctor said. 

Liam

height 24 1/2 inches 10th percentile

weight 15 pounds 8 ounces 40th percentile

Reece

height 25 3/4 inches 55th percentile

weight 17 pounds 11 ounces 80th percentile

  I love that they like to hold hands.

Wilson Week!

My sister in law Maureen and niece Kenzie came to visit last week. We had lots of fun going to the children's discovery museum, going to Great America, shopping, and eating lots of good meals out. Maureen even planted me a beautiful garden.

The children's discovery museum:

 Gnome homes at the museum. I am pretty sure the guy who was in charge of this area of the museum was related to Napoleon Dynamite because he looked and sounded just like him and he took his job REALLY seriously. He told me all about being a boy scout and how he knew how to collect things like this:

Kenzie on the walk to Great America:

Kenzie went on the chair lift by herself. She said it wasn't scary because she had been on a plane which goes way higher. She was even brave enough to go on her first roller coaster, however I think that it might also have been her last.

We decided to take a walk to the park the last day they were here. Ignore our very random clothes.  We had just gotten out of our church clothes and we hadn't planned on going anywhere or seeing anyone.

 We had some problems all looking at the camera.

Trip to Southern California

A few weeks ago the boys made their first trip to southern California to visit my family. They traveled over 1000 miles in one week and they were so good in the car. They had a hard time being away from home and daddy at first but they got better by the end of the week. 

I first visited my siblings and their families in Los Angeles.

They were due 2 days apart, however Tommy surprised us all and was born a month before the twins. These boys are going to have so much fun because they have two cousins, one on each side of the family, that are born within a month of them.

 What it would look like to have triplets in a minivan.

 My 3 year old niece Ella was a great babysitter for Reece.

 We then met my mom and drove down to visit my beautiful sister Kim and her boys in San Diego.

My nephew Jake and Reece. He is so good with kids. Jake's good with kids, too.

 

 Next we went to Ventura to visit my parents. Liam thought Grandpa was pretty funny.

My BFF Jennifer and my second family got to meet the boys.

 All together we had a fun happy trip!

Babies' first art museum!

I took the babies to their very first art museum. My friend Megan and I went to the Triton in Santa Clara which was having a printmaking exhibit. I was pretty excited since my emphasis in college was printmaking.

I think the old lady sitting at the front dest didn't like the babies laughing so loud but oh well, the museum was pretty much empty. She followed us and gave us dirty looks.

Three Months!

The boys didn't have a doctor's appointment this month so I don't have their stats. Instead, I thought I would write a few facts about the boys. People have been asking me if I am starting to see different personalities come through yet, and this is what I see so far.

Reece

Reece is my big guy. He has been in a bigger size than Liam for a month or so now. He started smiling at people at 6 weeks. He loves people. He loves being held and cuddled. He also likes his swing. He started teething on his 3 month birthday. He is just figuring out his hands and the poor kid is always sucking on his fingers to help with the pain.

Liam 

Liam started smiling at people at 5 weeks. He started to figure out his hands a few weeks ago and loves to play with his fingers and to hold toys. He loves toys. I bought Reece a teething ring, but so far only Liam has figured it out. Besides sitting on my lap, his play mat is his favorite place to be. Even though they are both pretty good boys he is a little more laid back. He isn't as good of a napper, though, and is slower at eating–and since he's smaller he has to do it more often.

Both boys have been pretty good at sleeping at night. By 1 month they were both sleeping 5 hours and now at 3 months they sleep about 8. They share a crib, but recently they have been bumping into each other and waking each other up, so we might have to separate them soon. So far they don't wake up when the other one cries–only when their brother hits them. Both Liam and Reece will get big smiles when someone comes to rescue them after a long nap. They are both entranced by their dinosaur mobile. They both like kisses and will giggle if you kiss their cheeks. They both like television even though we try to face them away from it. They will twist their heads all the way around to see what everybody's watching. They both like to see new babies, but they don't seem to be very impressed with each other anymore. They both love kicking their chubby cute legs.
