Buttons

A few weeks ago my husbands grandmother Beverly came and visited us in Idaho and brought all of her old sewing stuff to share with me and my very creative sister in law Maureen. My favorite thing I found in the boxes were buttons. I have been a collector of Buttons for many years but Beverly's contributions at least doubled my collection. I now have lots of sewing and art to do in order to use all these awesome and unique Buttons. This is one of the pieces I made using my sewing machine with gold thread to decorate the Grey felt I had which I then embroidered the stems and putt button flowers on.

I don't think it's fair that you're a great seamstress AND a great photographer. What kind of camera do you use?

I love the button flowers... where did you get the frame?

So cute! I love everything you do! Did you know pioneers loved buttons and gave them as gifts? We passed them out on the trek to kids that were doing good jobs. It's a really cute idea. Oh, and pioneer girls collected them until they got 999 and their true love gave them their 1000th. Just and FYI!

When I was a kid I remember going to my grandmas and playing with her buttons! Oh and Porters has that big tub of buttons! My kids love to play in it, it's like playing in sand, so therapeutic!

I collect buttons too! I remember Porters in Rexburg had buttons for 5 cents each or you could fill a little bag for a dollar. I would just sit there sifting through all the buttons putting them in the little bag.
